As you mentioned, the mistake was not in Drucker’s ideas, but in their application. It will always be up to us to decide if people or gains will be more important. I am afraid that people will be people and completely unaware will continue damaging themselves.

Appreciate you reading and voicing your thoughts; I share your fear. By and large I don't think it's within our control on a broad scale to prevent systemic, self-inflicted damage.

I do have hope that through the accumulation of individual shifts in what we tolerate, what we deem important, that we can effect change.

It takes leaders willing to try something new (or perhaps old), and move from a scarcity mindset around self-worth and work towards a sustainable-for-all future.
